Hello Rowlett Families,
We would like to share an important update with you.
At last night’s Board meeting, the Board of Directors selected Mrs. Cathy Choate to serve as Head of Schools for our K–8 organization. She will continue as Elementary Principal through the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year while gradually assuming additional responsibilities ahead of her official start date of July 1, 2026.
This decision follows an extensive review process conducted by a hiring committee composed of representatives from both campuses, members of our operations team, Mr. Brian Flynn, a Board Emeritus member, and a member of the Board of Directors.
Mrs. Choate brings 22 years of Rowlett experience to this role and is excited to take this next step as we continue to grow as a unified K–8 school. She is eager to connect with families who are new to her and to continue strengthening relationships with those she has known for years.
One of her top priorities will be identifying a new Elementary Principal. Ms. Daniel has opted not to pursue the role and will continue serving the elementary school in her current position. She will support our K–5 staff, students, and families throughout the transition until a new principal is in place.
We are excited about what this new position brings to our school and are confident that Mrs. Choate has the experience and leadership needed to excel in this role.
