Rowlie’s Nest

Rowlie’s Nest, a nurturing environment, provides fun and educational before and after-school activities in a safe and enriching environment. Rowlie’s Nest activities enhance the learning that takes place in school and promotes the development of life skills.

Program Excellence Based on Research
Research presented at the 2002 National School-Age Care Alliance (NSACA) conference, strongly suggest that programs like Rowlie’s Nest are ideal to promote happy, well-adjusted, academically successful children. Dr. Deborah Lowe Vandell, Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Washington, and Dr. James Young, Professor of Curriculum, Clark Atlanta University, presented at the conference and demonstrated that strictly academic programs tend to depress children and lead to poorer school performance overall, while programs that incorporate the arts, physical activities, and academics best help children succeed. This is the winning formula offered at Rowlie’s Nest. Based on this and similar studies, Rowlie’s Nest offers a program that supports activity choice and exploration in a variety of learning areas. Academics are incorporated into the fun, and hands-on experimentation and exploration is encouraged.
