National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) has worked for over 50 years to increase public awareness of gifted education, they have over 8,000 members who invests all of their resources to train teachers, encourage parents and educate administrators and policy makers on how to develop and support gifted children. They advocate by stressing what's at stake if gifted learners are not challenged and encouraged. " We owe it to ourselves and to future generations to help prepare the world of education for gifted students.

 

DukeTIP are the leaders in gifted and talented education. They have put together extensive resources to share with families, students, and educators. Manatee County participated in the Talent Search for 4th/5th graders last year. Eligibility for enrollment is an honor and indicates outstanding intellectual ability. Participating in the Talent Search provides students with exciting, stimulating and challenging opportunities through online lessons, publications, and contests.

 

Florida Association For the Gifted (FLAG) offers mini-grants to teachers,

awards scholarships to gifted students, and most of all supports advocacy efforts to protect the interests of gifted students.
